One summer my son Mason and I took a ride on the Alaska Railroad. Mason saw a picture of the Hurricane Gulch Bridge on the station wall and liked it very much. We couldn’t see the brdige very well when the train finally rolled over it. When we came home we found pictures of the bridge construction during the early 1920’s online in an Anchorage museum digital archives. The next summer we took a hike to a distant vantage point of the bridge then rode the Alaska RR flag stop Hurricane Budd car …
