your use of a bookcase as the terminal is a great idea! it allows you to view the platforms nicely:)

Thanks for the comment. There’s alot of American trains that are cheaper then European ones. Depends on the quality you want. There’s some good deals on ebay of course the shipping cost runs up the price.

All you need now is the Texas special and the meteor!
Comment by railfanfromiantha — May 27, 2009 @ 3:40 pm
Amazing! How long did this take you to build?
Comment by ThomasnBear1D3 — June 20, 2009 @ 8:27 pm
Just a couple of years but I have been collecting stuff for 30 years.

Love the layout, what company makes that stainless steel colored CB&Q f3? Is that Athearn Genesis?
Comment by PrrTrains — July 3, 2009 @ 7:15 pm
No, the CB&Q is an inexpensive Bachmann that I painted myself. Both units are powered.

Sweet layout and sweet trains!
Comment by colinroxanduknowit — July 26, 2009 @ 11:05 pm
Thats a darn nice paint job then, how long did it take to paint and was it difficult?
Btw, this is my favorite HO layout on youtube. Its sophisticated and detailed, yet you clearly have kept the spirit of actually having fun running trains. I only hope I can make a layout this good.

where did you get the car over passis?
Comment by bdmcneilusmsl — August 8, 2009 @ 1:38 pm
I made the car overpasses out of cardboard.

Do you think you could give me a few pointers on making a cool layout like yours
Comment by ThaMeast25 — August 22, 2009 @ 12:57 pm
The layout is 8 feet by 13? Do you figure I could do the same thing, minus the Chicago Station?
Great layout,
Take care,
Ryan

Sure, just leave off the whole yard and just build the main layout.
Comment by davidh545 — September 1, 2009 @ 9:23 pm

Comment by andersonjjj333 — September 9, 2009 @ 12:35 pm
love layout but holy crap its big
Comment by joshtheyman — September 25, 2009 @ 3:14 pm
Yep… “Pack a lot of action into a small space.” All that makes it look all the more unrealistic.
Comment by DepletedU — October 16, 2009 @ 3:12 pm
Would call this small.
