  8. i love your layout, and are your trains lightly weathered? because it looks like they are

    Comment by geminijets11 — July 31, 2009 @ 9:56 pm

  9. Most of my train cars are lightly weathered with chalks and sealed with testors dullcoat. I haven’t had the chance to do them all but I would like to.
    Thanks

  11. This is really Great Mario! Where did you get the catenary wire?

    Comment by rrtimetables — August 15, 2009 @ 9:48 pm

  12. The catenary is made by MTH. It’s real easy to install and can be powered if you like.
    Thanks

  14. Although I model in N scale you’ve still provided me with plenty of inspiration for my own model railroad project, and I humbly thank you.

  15. the NYC cars remind that this one time i went to this hobby shop and they had Lionel trains set up and it was a NYC steam engine pulling Alaska coaches and me and my dad were “you would never see that in real life”

  18. what camera and camcorder do you use

    Comment by GoldenCreekValleyRR — November 8, 2009 @ 1:38 pm

  19. I used a Canon S1 for the video clips. It’s really a digital still camera but has an excellent video mode. The camera also has a manual focus lock that allows the auto focus to remain off so when the trains go by the camera dosen’t seek to find focus.

The stills were taken with a variety of cameras, some are: Sony R1, Fuji S9100, Canon S1, Nikon D3, D40.

I found that composition, focus, and camera placement were the most important factors in getting good pictures.
    Thanks
    Mario
