Need help mounting a model train controller to my platform for Christmas?

I am building a 4′x8′ train layout for Christmas and ended up with a plastic train controller with no apparent method to mount it to the plywood. It’s hard plastic and there are no mounting holes. Any suggestions, or can you point me to an alternate solution (not looking for any of those fancy controllers). Thanks much

  1. Go to your local hardware store and pick up a roll of double-sided adhesive tape. Tape one side to the bottom of the controller, remove the backing, and mount it where you want it on the plywood platform.

  2. try velcro at walmart or radio shack that way you can move it easier if needed

  3. You didn’t say if the layout needs to be taken down/ put away after the holiday.
You also didn’t say why it has to be mounted ON the layout.
If you must secure it down, there are a few ideas already posted. I have one more to add.
Drill 2 small holes in the plywood, using a piece of coat hanger wire it down with those holes over the top of the controler and it’s there till you remove it.
Also costs less than either of the other ideas.
