NS Empty Coal Train in HO
June 2008 The Harford County Modular Railroad group got together for a weekend last june at Harford Community College in preparation for the big August show in Timonium. Today I’m running an empty coal train on the layout of about 50 modules. The train incorrectly sounds a K5LA horn for the crossing at Steelytown. (Its supposed to be a Leslie RS3L) As a matter of fact, there is almost nothing historically or geographically correct in this video. but I thought it was too cool to not put on …

Did the ditch lights come factory installed?
Comment by Kman781 — June 5, 2009 @ 4:05 pm
Yes they are. They’re actually brighter than the headlight

I’m not being smart by this but most of the cars were chessie system, they are now csx not norfolk southern. I’m just saying

You are correct. I’ve already mentioned the inaccuracy in the video description. The chessie hoppers just happened to be the only ones available at the time to make the train longer than the 18 NS and Conrail hoppers I had on the end.

Did you add sound to the video later or were the locomotive sounds actually installed into the locomotive?
Comment by csxketh1 — June 21, 2009 @ 1:01 pm
Yes, I dubbed the sound from a real locomotive.

When was the show in timonium?
Comment by abrownyo — August 18, 2009 @ 7:44 pm
This particular show was in August 2008, but between the Greenberg Show and the Great Scale Model Train Show, there are about 6 or 7 train shows in Timonium each year.

HAHAHA I just bought a Atlas Custom painted NS C40-8W NS in HO for only 120.00
Comment by KATOSD80MAC — August 22, 2009 @ 9:03 pm
Not a bad price!
Comment by NS8366 — August 22, 2009 @ 9:10 pm
That’s because it IS the sound of a real train dubbed over the video.
