Another area of concern when collecting and operating model trains is the method as to how the items are controlled and operated. As mentioned, modern model trains are now integrated with simple and miniature engines. Otherwise, there could be potential problems about the way the model trains are controlled. Some people are very particular about how movements, speed and directions of model trains are manipulated and controlled.
Collectors and owners would like to treat model trains the way actual trains are treated in the market. Model trains can also speed up and abruptly slow down which may result to collisions and accidents. Owners would not like that to happen, but it is also weird that they want to keep the possibilities of such occurrences, especially for three-system model trains. Therefore, people controlling and manipulating model train operations are like actual train drivers who are in control of the situation.
