  3. Nice layout. Really have a great touch – a little to old for me (modeling modern times) but you gotta love the details…

  17. flexitrack is probably what most, if not all, professionals use. They might use some fixed pieces here and there, but most of it is flexitrack

  21. That first brick retaining wall must be at least 150′-0″… What civil engineering firm did you contract for that miracle???

    Comment by DepletedU — November 5, 2009 @ 5:23 am

  22. If you look at a box car passing it, its only about 25′-30′ feet high, very common site along the Pennsy NE Corridor built with those same sand stone blocks, and BTW, I happen to be a graduate Civil Engineer and didn’t you ever hear of modeler’s license wne it comes to model railroad’s??? Thanks to all the others who’ve posted positive comments on my layout this past year…

  23. Hi.

What type of horn is that sounding? Doesn’t quite sound like the Nathans and Leslies I’m familiar with.

    Comment by ACLTony — November 22, 2009 @ 10:40 pm

  24. Just a cheap CMI sound module, wasn’t supposed to be a real horn sound. That was made in the days long before digitial sampling was invented….thanks for commenting anyway!

    Comment by jbass62 — November 23, 2009 @ 6:43 am

  25. Understood about the sound module. I must say that your track and ballast work is excellent. Also great work on the ground scenery. Definetly resembles the eastern U.S. BTW: Are you a member of the Kalmbach Model Railroader Forum?
