Santa Fe HO train in the my living room!
Today, I am running a train powered by a Santa Fe C44-8 No. 849. Its a nice silver and red painted locomotive pulling a 28 car freight train. I’ll add more freight cars in the future and hope to find new HO locomotive. If you have any suggestions or comments please let me know.

I like your trains! Wheres the board!?! I had the same problem, we rent a town house so i sadi fuck it! Sold my drag race mustang and put my wifes car outside (im paying for that) and put two 4×8 sheets in the garage! Now i have a 4×16 foot layout. I am thinking about making it operational by placing another 4×8 that can open like a bridege so I can have a 4×24 layout! with the garge door open. You need another loco. I want to trade my new BHP AC-6000 Broadway for a Athearn AC-4400 or c449W

I really like your locomotives, i agree, you need a board so u can add scenery an stuff..thats what Im doing with mine…and I LOVE those articulated Automaxs. I have the Atlas bi-level articulated ones with NS logos. question, do u ever plan on waethering some of your cars? i noticed they all look “new” unless thats wat u want then cool!
i weather and graffiti mine, my graffiti is hand painted on too…no stickers.

Well you’re half right. He has DCC. Regular DC control can’t make a smooth, slow start like on this vid.

I used to get great low speed starts with my MRC transformers delayed slow motion control– throw the switch and just run the throttle up to speed and wait— the transformers circuit adds power ever so slowly, and the loco just creeps off and picks up speed at a realistic pace. The better the locos motor and drive the smoother it works. It worked the same in stopping, just throttle down and wait for it to come to a slow crawling stop. Worked best with ultra smooth stewart hobbies engine.

Bachmann are good and cheap. I have the Niagara 4-8-4 and it has pretty good pulling power, a smoker with good sync to the pistons and hooked up to a circa 1970’s Dual Loco Controller.
