  1. Milli comes from the Greek and it means one thousandth

    Millimeter means one thousandth of a meter.

    So 1 mm = (1/1000) m

    For your problem:

    25mm = (25/1000) m = 0.025 meters.

    Thought – there is no point in confusing the issue by switching from mm to cm to m. Just use the fact that *****1 mm = 1m/1000.*****

  2. 25 mm is 2.5 cm.
    a meter is 100 cm.
    2.5 / 100 = 0.025 meters
